Sewing Olympics Event #2

This event? Pedicure + Amy Butler “Midwest Modern” book.

Completed while watching women’s skeleton-Day 8 at Vancouver.

Bookish thoughts:

I’ve catalogued this under “interior design reference”.  The design elements are fresh, but classic.

The Butler home seems to have an open and airy design, while being grounded by thrifted antiques.

They have a love for home, family, and friends. The book includes plenty of encouragement and neat projects along the route.

It’s a showcase of how her fabrics can be used, but also the elements that inspire them.

It’s not a pattern book, which is fine if you aren’t expecting one!

As for the women’s skeleton event, I just can’t imagine *ever* wanting to go down a luge course head first.

Those athletes have my highest respect!

One American gal in particular was unabashed about her joy in being a new mom.

An unapologetic mom? Go team!!
