Tarte Pretty Paintbox Review

Recently, I purchased the Tarte Pretty Paintbox Collector’s Makeup Case from Sephora. I know this isn’t in my normal realm of study and blog post, but it was interesting to me, so I thought I’d share! I took this Tarte Holiday palette on vacation with me last week, and did some “test driving”!

My initial impression is that the exterior is beautiful. I love the pattern and color! It contains 24 eye colors, a blush, highlighter, two bronzers, eyeliner, mascara, and lip paint. On first opening the palette, I immediately took out the plastic case for the eyes and lip box. That gave me room for several other pieces of makeup for my trip.

I love the colors of the shadows. As many of you know, I’m light skinned, haired, and eyed. I don’t wear a dark eye, so the colors needed to be lighter for me. I haven’t used all the colors yet, even after being on vacation for a week! I love this set because there are quite a few lighter and mid-range colors that I can wear successfully in the daytime. I found that I loved the darker colors in place of my normal eyeliner, so the whole eye palette was useful to me last week. Being fair skinned, I don’t often wear much bronzer, but the highlighter and blush were great! Also, you can’t go wrong with the gorgeous nude gloss included. Overall, I’m quite pleased with this makeup collection, and I’ll continue using it in my effort to use all the eye colors!

If there were any drawback to this lovely set, it would be the size. It’s quite a large palette for travel, and I had to have an extra bag just for my makeup (wink, wink)! I don’t consider that much of a drawback, so it really is a wonderful makeup collection!
