When we think of the title, “modern quilts”, we often think of angular, negative space kinds of quilts. The wonky log cabins, neon colors, the hanging settings, the strips of fabric down the left or right of a quilt or backing…..those are definitely modern.
We don’t always think of trending things as “modern” but they really are. For anything soft, floral, and pretty, check out brands like Liberty, NanaCompany, and RedPepperQuilts. There are plenty of other lovely quilters working with light and airy florals, and some beautiful fabrics coming out right now or soon! My point is that maybe we’re defining “modern quilts” too narrowly? Or maybe we need a new term, like “trendy quilter”?
