Proverbs 31 is such a rich passage of Scripture.

In it, we find many, many references to the virtuous wife who is willing to work for her family. In her day, it was a necessity to make the fabric then make all the clothing and coverings for her family. The Scripture says she managed all that, and had time to make things to sell, as well!

With our modern conveniences, it’s easy to find extra time during the day to sew or craft. In fact, sewing machines themselves are modern conveniences! Most of you, my readers, embody the Proverbs 31 Lady in many more ways than just sewing for your home. But if you’re a new bride reading this, I want to encourage you to find something, whether it’s quilting or some other pretty craft, to put your hands to in those moments when you’re idle.

You never know, you might learn a skill that will be a blessing to your husband and family in years to come!
